WGSN FASHION AWARDS – NOMINEES

The shortlist for the WGSN Global Fashion Awards has been officially announced by Amber Le Bon at a central London event…

The Awards celebrate and reward what’s NEW and what’s NEXT in fashion from breakthrough design talent to innovation in design, buying, retail and etail. Judged by an elite panel of international experts and attracting entries from more than 50 countries, these are the only fashion awards to recognise achievement on a global scale.

Le Bon (pictured right) revealed the highly anticipated shortlist of nominees across 19 fashion design, buying and retail categories at the intimate event attended by WGSN delegates, the judges, sponsors and press including Paul Markevicius from www.fashioncapital.co.uk

London Fashion Week favorites Sophia Webster and Hannah Weiland of Shrimps, are nominated for Breakthrough Footwear & Accessories Designer and Catrice Cosmetics Breakthrough Womenswear Designer respectively. They are up against a stellar cast of international names with designers and brands from Australia, Brazil, China, France, India, Russia, USA, UK and beyond.

Karen Millen, who recently celebrated the re-launch of its boutique network in the UK and US, will vie for Best Store against Jigsaw, Level Shoe District and Debenhams whilst Farfetch, Koolfly, Joker’s Closet and Covetique are all shortlisted for Best E-Store. The Womenswear Design Award sees newcomer Finery London nominated alongside Whistles, Equipment and US brand Madewell. 

The 2015 shortlist will now be judged by a panel of experts prior to the awards ceremony, including:

            Kristina Szasz, Creative Director, Denim at Karl Lagerfeld

            Mariano Vivanco, Fashion Photographer 

            Caroline Burstein, Creative Director at Browns 

            Tania Fares, Co-Chair of the BFC Fashion Trust 

            Angela Scanlon, London Fashion Weekend ambassador and Presenter 

The fifth awards ceremony will be celebrated in style at a star-studded gala ceremony at The Park Lane Hotel in London on 14 May.
