Style Addict – A fashionable fix of news, views and more…“You Wear It Well” Audience Choice Favourite: “Shoes” – Finsk Shoes Spring/Summer 07 Preview – World Fashion Week & London Fashion Week
Fashion Short: “Shoes” Entries for the “You Wear It Well” short film competition with a fashion flavour have flooded in and are now debuting on screens around the globe. Bagging the Audience Choice award at CineSpace, Los Angeles was Liam Sullivan’s humorous spoof “Shoes,” which can be viewed at http://www.liamshow.com/movies/shoes_video.mov. Audience sing-along participation guaranteed, along with sad but true feelings of empathy. “Shoes” was also selected as the Audience Choice at the San Francisco screening. In Copenhagen, “You Wear It Well” was presented in conjunction with Henrik Vibskov's recent fashion show and all night party. The Audience Choice award was neck and neck between Liam's "Shoes" and Jeremy Scott's "Starring," however "Starring" broke the tie with a single vote. “You Wear It Well” will next appear in Antwerp, Belgium as a part of "Vitrine," the citywide installation project organized by the Flanders Fashion Institute, opening 7th September 06. Watch out for future dates & locations which will also include London.
More Shoes a la Finsk Shoes – who can argue the appeal of a tres chic pair! For footwear with a completely unique twist look no further than Finsk – shoes by designer Julia Lundsten. Finn Lundsten graduated with a masters degree in Footwear Design from the Royal College of Art in 2003. The daughter of an architect and interior designer, Lundsten cites furniture, architecture and nature as her main points of reference. "My shoes are more design objects than footwear" says Lundsten, "a shoe is like a chair, the heel and sole being the chair legs and the upper the seat." Lundsten now lives and works in London, which she says is full of inspiration and has already caught the attention of the style savvy press here and overseas. "I am captivated by her work. It is like nothing anybody is doing at the moment, exquisite, devine, perfect." Manolo Blahnik gives Julia Lundsten a glowing report in W Magazine.

Right On - London Fashion Week
While we are on the topic of Fashion Week – London is certainly gearing up for a strong Spring/Summer season. What with Armani, Biba and Zandra Rhodes all on schedule, alongside newcomers Christopher Kane and Todd Lynn – Roland Mouret’s former right-hand man.
With the show just two weeks away Lee Lapthorne said: “It is staggering how many messages of support On|Off has received from designers and the fashion industry in general since news of the fire broke out. Obviously, the Royal Academy has shown its commitment to On|Off over the last few seasons by allowing us to showcase the works of new and established designers at their prestigious venue and we’re glad that no-one was hurt or major art works lost. Our decision to go ahead this season was never in question. On|Off is a concept event that has grown to the benefit of the fashion industry in this country and is not determined by a venue.”
