MODEL SPYFelicity Gilbert How irritating is the expression: “The next Kate Moss.” First off, there is only one Kate Moss, just like there is only one Lily Cole or one Naomi Campbell. Secondly, Kate Moss is alive, well, and doing very nicely thank-you very much, although the media would have you believe that a Kate Moss upgrade has long been on the cards. And thirdly, well, it’s just an annoying phrase and is up there with “yummy mummy” and “supermodel” in my book. Apparently the above mentioned tag has been given to new model on the block Felicity Gilbert, the similarities being same mother agency: Storm, and a slight frame that measures below model average height – that’s, however, where the similarities end. I first clocked Felicity in Vogue’s February 06 ‘Class of 2006’ story which introduced 27 new faces to British Vogue readers far and wide. Felicity was my top choice, a mix of feline features with a natural photogenic quality - so, obviously, I was feeling rather chuffed with my model scouting skills when I saw her working the Fashion Week catwalks and splashed across glossies such as Italian Vogue, Self Service and iD. Bets are on that she’ll land a juicy campaign in the near future. |
