KAREN WALKER : 17 Launch Ad campaign

17 LAUNCH FIRST AD IN CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE THEIR LATEST COLLABORATION
"The idea of a capsule make-up collection by a fashion designer is genius; full marks to 17 for choosing KAREN WALKER"
Cathy Edwards, Fashion Director, DAZED & CONFUSED

Photographer: Ryan Michael Kelly @ Thomas Treuhaft NY
Creatives: Peter Robertson and Susan Hosking @ Mother
Stylist: Heathermary Jackson @ Jed Root
Model: Claudia Marikula @ One
Shot in New York last month, and styled by Karen Walker’s show stylist Heathermary Jackson, the ad is the concept of leading creative agency MOTHER.
"Karen Walker's collection is an exciting new addition to the 17 range. We wanted the advertising to reflect not only her Spring/Summer colour palette, but also her irreverent twist on Wonderland. Playing with a pastiche of a classic girl and her horse pose allowed us to do both." Peter Robertson, MOTHER
Inspired by 60’s pop art and the prevalent Alice in Wonderland thread of Karen Walkers’ collections, the ad features a chequerboard dress from her Spring/Summer 2006 ‘Karen in TV Land’ collection and promotes 17 by Karen Walker Sheer Shine Eye Crèmes, (shades: White Rabbit, Creamcake, Wildflower, Moss, Tigerlilly, and Wonderland).
“It was important for us to work with a truly inspirational designer to produce a stand-out collection that personifies 17's energy and 'passion for fashion'. Karen was a dream to work with and we are rightfully proud of the output of the collaboration both in terms of the great product and the spirit with which we have worked together.” Andrew Groom, Product Manager, 17
Publications in which the ad will appear include: Heat, OK, Elle, Glamour and Marie Claire, amongst others. The next ad launches in July and will feature a limited edition 17 by Karen Walker make-up palette.
“For me fashion is always about a sense of adventure – you could say make-up is about having that sense of adventure every morning, something 17 have totally embraced with this project.” KAREN WALKER
