FASHION PR PRESS RELEASES
UCL's Green ShowTHE GREEN SHOW Sunday 28th February 2010 7pm-9.30pm University College London – ‘London’s Global University’ – was ranked fourth worldwide by the Times Good University Guide and offers a diverse range of courses including Environmental Law, Environmental Economics and has expansive environmental resources. This year, MODO, UCL’s fashion society is taking on the challenge in ‘The Green Fashion Show’! MODO is a vehicle for University College's most creatively-talented individuals to involve themselves in the production of a fashion show where everything is self-generated and ethically viable. MODO members are part of designing, modelling, photography, PR, life drawing, hair and makeup and backstage work. Our fashion show is entirely self-generated by college students from a variety of degrees and interests.
Previous MODO fashion shows have attracted luminaries such as renowned designer Nicole Farhi and this year we hope to attract many industry members to view our fabulous creations. Discover the bright young designers of the future; who combine environmental consciousness with innovative design. This is fashion with a conscience from designers that care about making the necessary changes to our planet. This is something you certainly won’t see during London Fashion Week!
For further information and press invitations please contact: -ENDS- Notes to editors: MODO is committed to the 10:10 initiative which holds the idea that working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK's carbon emissions in 2010. 10:10 was started by Franny Armstrong (UCL alumnus and environmental campaigner) who supports MODO – www.1010uk.org. Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development (TRAID) has kindly donated material to us for the show. Their objectives are: to protect the environment by diverting clothes and shoes from landfill; to reduce world poverty by raising funds for overseas development projects; and to educate the UK public on environmental and world poverty issues – www.traid.org.uk.
