Fashion Photographer - Hugh O’Malley
Hugh O’Malley on his gallery images …
Hugh O’Malley is a London based photographer that specialises in editorial, fashion, beauty and catwalk. He studied fine art at Chelsea College of Art and specialised in photography. Hugh has always loved glossy magazines and in particular striking fashion images.
He thinks fashion photography is a more relevant art form than fine art photography as it’s a part of the cultural vernacular and embedded in popular culture. It’s not divorced from our consumerist culture which he doesn’t despise (or pretend to) like many artists. Although cliquey, pretentious and narcissistic at times Hugh enjoys working in the fashion industry for its unbridled creativity and meeting inspiring visionaries.
Hugh set up a studio with a friend in the Eastend in 2006.
